Nepal - Covid Service Activities
Government of Nepal has declared “lockdown” at different parts of the country to control the spread of virus since 29th April 2021.The coronavirus pandemic is affecting tens of thousands of people in profound ways, including loss of work and lack of medical care and food supplies. The outbreak has had a significant impact on the most vulnerable populations, including the elderly, children and the daily wage earners. Nepali authorities have been struggling to contain the rapid rise of virus cases as experts fear that tens of thousands of people may have caught the infectious mutant strains emerging out of Nepal’s immediate neighbor India.
Volunteers of SSSSO Nepal started distributing hot meal packets and raw food materials at different parts of the country. Apart from this, home visits to needy patients, Blood donation program, distribution of medical consumables were also conducted at different parts of the country. Altogether 12300 packets of hot meals, 2281 packets of dry food ration, 350 pcs of Masks, Hand Sanitizers, Soaps and Gloves were distributed. These apart, consultancy services were provided 1179 corona infected patients that include 68 home visits. 7 hospital admitted patients were also served. 1250+ animals were served with food and water which include street animals, fish and monkeys.
Blood Donation camp was organized in different places across the country and 940 pints of blood was collected.
While conducting the seva, social distancing and medical norms have been practiced.
