South Africa - Frasers Pediatric Clinic

On the 21st of August, Swami afforded us the opportunity to serve the Frasers community’s medical needs. The main objective of the seva was to hold a Pediatric Clinic at Frasers in the North Coast. This was an integrated seva activity – as it incorporated all wings of the Organization. Families from the Frasers and Low-Cost Home Communities were invited.

The day started with a Hawan and an address by the National Medical Coordinator. There were 126 Sevadals in attendance, and this team was roughly made up of:

  • 14 Doctors

  • 6 Medical Students

  • 5 Pharmacists

  • 4 Nurses (including nurses from the Department of Health)

  • 87 Devotees

A total of 128 children were screened.

The Young Adults (YAs) assisted from the various wings with numerous tasks such as:

  • Assisting with the Registration Process

  • Medical Screenings (height, weight, and temperature checks)

  • Accompanying Patients to the respective rooms/Doctors/pharmacy area

  • A Health and Wellness Talk

Mothers and Children were also provided with Snacks and Hygiene Packs. The babies in attendance were also given their preferred Milk formula. With the grace of Bhagawan, no serious illnesses or ailments were detected. The children were mainly treated for flu symptoms, seasonal allergies, and mild skin conditions.
