South Africa - Ongoing Go Green Initiatives | Durban Region

We are blessed with the opportunity to serve our community with love and unity, guided by Swami’s teachings and our deep respect for Mother Nature. Our ongoing green initiatives reflect our commitment to sustainability and our desire to protect and preserve the environment for future generations.

Envirocare: Recycle Clean!

Every Thursday, from 8am to 12pm, the Durban Region is actively collecting E-Waste at the Sri Sathya Sai Retreat in Reservoir Hills. This initiative encourages everyone to participate in recycling electronic waste responsibly.

Accepted Items:

  • Old Phones

  • Laptops

  • Chargers

  • Electronic Cables

  • Small Appliances

By properly disposing of these items, we prevent harmful materials from polluting our environment and contribute to a cleaner, greener planet. Let’s work together to make a positive impact.

Bread Tag & Bottle Cap Collections

In another heartfelt effort to promote sustainability, we are collecting bread tags and bottle caps. This initiative involves all nine centres within our region, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

GUIDELINES:

  • Centres are lovingly asked to pack their Bread Tags and Bottle Caps in separate boxes according to quantity.

  • We accept Milk Bottle/Carton Caps, Water Bottle Caps, and Cooldrink Bottle Caps. Please rinse and ensure they are dried before packing.

  • Drop off your collections at The Retreat on Thursdays between 9am-11am or during GDS at 6:30pm.

Embracing Our Responsibility

These ongoing initiatives are more than just recycling efforts; they are a testament to our commitment to living sustainably and respecting the environment. By participating in these programs, we not only reduce waste but also inspire others to join in our mission to protect Mother Nature.

We offer our sincere gratitude to Swami for blessing us with these opportunities to serve.
